Mallorca

This is what Mallorca has to offer for...

... Families with children

Mallorca is an island full of attractions for children: the nostalgic Sóller train – quite an experience; Natura Parc – an ideal zoo for smaller children; Marineland – dolphin shows; aqua parks, caves, mountains, beaches and much, much more.

... Water sports enthusiasts

As the largest of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca is the ideal base for sea trips and one of the most popular centres for sports yachts in the Mediterranean. The four islands - Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera – offer a huge diversity of coastal landscapes and a large number of unspoilt coves and beaches where one can anchor. The level of quantity of nautical services are considerable.

... Golfers

Around twenty golf courses, each one more beautiful than the last, located in rich, diverse countryside, with top-notch hotels and restaurants. Mallorca has become one of the most attractive golfing destinations in Europe, as enthusiasts do not have to travel long distances to enjoy a maximum of different experiences.

... Underwater sports enthusiasts

The island of Cabrera, a natural park and destination for trips from Cala d'Or Family Coast, is considered the most beautiful place in which to go diving. There are bases all over the island and two decompression chambers (one in the Clínica Juaneda in Palma and another mobile one). Practically the whole coast offers a wealth of underwater fauna and flora, as well as other elements of interest such as caves and sunken ships.

... Nature lovers

Several natural parks – including the Mondragó Natural Park on Cala d'Or Family Coast – and extensive protected areas make Mallorca a very popular destination with tourists seeking above all unspoilt nature and wildlife. Birdwatchers go to S'Albufera Natural Park (Alcúdia) more than anywhere else on the islands. And the blossoming of the almond trees in January / February is an event which has such a visual impact that many visitors plan their holidays to coincide with this phenomenon.

... Hikers

The Serra de Tramuntana mountain range is the most spectacular region of the Balearic Islands and a paradise for hikers. A traditional pathway has now been restored and offers one of the most beautiful routes in the Mediterranean, from Andratx in the west of the island to Formentor in the north-east. As well as this main attraction, there are also routes and possibilities practically all over Mallorca, and naturally in the south of the island, too.

... Cyclists

It’s no secret that from autumn to spring Mallorca turns into a gigantic circuit for cyclists from all over Europe, ranging from famous professionals to families and pensioners. Numerous hotels and travel agencies offer these groups services to add convenience and relaxation to the pleasure of travelling around a beautiful island.

... Culture fans

Warning: if you are interested in culture, Mallorca will become an addictive destination. Palma de Mallorca can boast one of the best-preserved historical centres in Europe, the monuments from past ages are spectacular, artistic life pulsates on all levels and every year the list of museums and cultural centres adds on new items.

... Friends of the winter in the Mediterranean

Experiencing the island of Mallorca during the quiet season has its advantages. Many visitors actually prefer low season, and more and more offers are being created to satisfy this group. Palma de Mallorca is obviously a city with attractions that work all year round, but the same is also true of many other areas, although the nature of the activities changes. All over the island - including Cala d'Or Family Coast and the municipality of Santanyí – cultural events are organised to enrich visitors’ experience, which outside the summer months centres more on scenery, nature, arts and land sports such as cycling or hiking.
