An ideal destination for families
Cala d'Or is a paradise for families with children. The atmosphere is relaxed and calm, the different beaches are located at the end of inlets, set inland, protected from the sea’s swell, and with unbeatable conditions with regard to dimensions, safety and depth. All kinds of services are on hand at all times, from food and drink to medical attention. The shade of hundreds and thousands of pine trees enables one to enjoy summer with no risk. There are many sources of entertainment and the attractions of all Mallorca are just a a few kilometres away.
Cala d'Or is a populated area with architectural charm and a road network which, for the most part, ensures slow, quiet traffic – conditions that are greatly appreciated by the parents of small children.
And if unexpected needs arise, or you have left something at home, there are streets full of shops. The range of gastronomy is extremely diverse, and you do not have to leave Cala d’Or to go on an interesting trip. The third most important marina in the Balearic Islands offers an impressive spectacle with its approximately 500 yachts, whilst Portopetro is a traditional Mallorcan enclave with a small port and fishing boats.
Finally, it is a pleasure indeed to go out at night with no more cares than the basic vigilance one would use in any public place. Children have a wonderful time in Cala d'Or, and as a consequence, their parents do, too.
